Freddy is an ML Engineer in the AIS project (https://ais.schule), an open-source AI tutoring platform designed for German schools. Working within the ELLIS team led by Wieland Brendel, his role focuses on the development and large-scale deployment of educational AI components, such as multimodal tutoring models and recommender systems. He joined the institute after completing his Master of Science in Computer Science at the University of Tübingen, where he researched the cognitive principles of intrinsically motivated learning and LLM evaluation.
